Pleasures and Delights

Do you ever think about the fact that God wants us to experience pleasure and delight in our relationship with Him? Read these wonderful verses and drink them in like you would a giant latte (my drink of choice):

"You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand" (Psalm 16:11).

"But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night" (Psalm 1:2).

"The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance" (Psalm 16:6).

"My soul will rejoice in the LORD and delight in his salvation" (Psalm 35:9).

"How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights" (Psalm 36:7, 8).

Doesn't "drink from your river of delights" sound amazingly good?! Do we find this much joy and satisfaction in God??
Today I went out with friends to a chocolate cafe that I LOVE. It's called "La Maison du Chocolat". For those of you who live in Berlin, it's in Potsdam in the Dutch Quarters at Benkerstrasse 20. The food is fantastic. I just love going there, especially because the setting around the cafe is so beautiful. The Dutch Quarters is made up of those typically European cobblestone streets, wonderful locally-owned specialty shops, cafe after cafe . . . just a wonderul experience and a great way to spend a day. If you visit me in Berlin, I'll take you to Potsdam and we'll go to the chocolate cafe.

Kristi,
I would love to visit that cafe someday with you!!!

I have one to add to your collection--one of my favorite Shane & Shane songs...(I am not sure where exactly they pull it from, but for me it is a combo of Isaiah 55 and Isaiah 61) Note the last two lines especially...love that!

"I delight myself in the richest of fares, trading all that is good for all that is better. A garment of praise for my heaviness.
You are the greatest taste--
You're the richest of fares"

Thanks Kristi!
