As of today, I've lived in Germany 2,130 days! It's hard to believe looking back to April 21, 2004 that I could've made it this long!!! More on that later though . . . the 5 year anniversary is fast approaching. Wow.Tonight I'm going out for Chinese food with my teammates, Becky & Lynette. I've struggled to blog about normal, every-day happenings lately, so here's a recap of an interesting day:

Yesterday at 9:00am, I showed up at church for our weekly Wednesday morning and discovered that the ladies had planned a surprise birthday party for Becky, Lynette and me (even though my birthday was almost 2 months ago in the States)! It was so much fun. They gave us bouquets of flowers, gifts, cards and gift certificates for manicures and pedicures. We were VERY surprised!
After that, I went to Starbucks with one of my favorite teens and had a great conversation about life and growing up and surviving adolescence.
Then, I met two of my favorite Berlin friends at another cafe for coffee and fellowship. Katie runs a Christian library/cafe in Berlin and Melinda has been a missionary here for 15-20 years (I'm not quite sure). They are an encouragement to me. That marked my third cup of coffee for the day (2 of them being lattes).
Finally, I headed by bus to my teammates' home for dinner and a "team meeting" where we ate pizza, salad and Texas sheet cake and prayed together for the people making up our various ministries. I love praying with my team.
When I got home, I talked to my parents, my brother Todd, and my good friend, Trisha Amos on the phone. That's what I did on my 2,129th day in Berlin. Today has been less interesting.

wow. I am very impressed that you know the actual amount of days that you have been there! I have no idea how many days that I have been in Ohio. . . more than a year's worth. Did the coffee keep you up all night? It gives me the jitters.
That is amazing : ). All those wonderful things smooshed into one day.
