One afternoon a deacon paid a call on one of the ederly women in his church. The woman was sitting by the window having a cup of tea. "Won't you sit and have a cup of tea?" she asked him. The deacon sat down, and old Mary offered him tea.
"Why, Mary," he exclaimed in surprise, "It's only water you have!"
"Aye!" she said, "but He makes it taste like tea!"
I liked that story. The other reason for the post was that I was listening to a CD my brother, Todd, made me once and the song "I Could Not Ask for More" played and the words made me realize something. Our hearts are never satisfied. As it is, I already have more than most of the world's population, and yet I'm never satisfied. At the end of a great meal, I'm wondering what's for dessert, if you know what I mean. This song is about finally finding the love of your life. As great as that would be, it may never happen. I need these words to be true today.
Looking in your eyes, seeing all I need
Everything you are is everything in me
These are the moments I know heaven must exist
And these are the moments I know all I need is this
I've found all I've waited for, and I could not ask for more
I could not ask for more than this time together
I could not ask for more than this time with you
Every prayer has been answered
Every dream I've had's come true
Right here in this moment is right where I'm meant to be
Here with you, here with me
These are the moments I thank God that I'm alive
And these are the moments I'll remember all my life
I've found all I've waited for and I could not ask for more
