My mission field

I went to a high school graduation tonight at John F. Kennedy school in Berlin and got to hear the former president of Germany speak. It was pretty cool. I was also reminded of why I'm here. Sometime I forget . . . I'm here because God called me here and often that's all I know. But tonight, I looked up at the 100+ high school seniors leaving Berlin to attend colleges and universities all over the world (literally) and was reminded of what a challenge lies before me. If all I ever do is focus on reaching JFKS with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have my hands full!

Lately I've been thinking that it'd be nice to leave Berlin and try something else, but I honestly have no idea what else I'd do that would be this challenging and fulfilling! Yes, certain things about living here bug me . . . like missing my family, my car, certain friends, Super Walmart, etc. Loneliness comes and goes like the tide and sometimes I get distracted thinking that I deserve a better life; but then I see a group of misguided teenagers headed out into the world without hope and suddenly things make sense again.

Hey Krust,
Matt & I have set-up the Germany Jar in the living room. We have every intention of visiting again soon. Pray that God gives me a fabulous job (benes, full time hours, career-related) so we came come soon, like next year!
