Time to Go Back

I've been in the States since December 11th and it's been great! I've been all over the place as usual: Indianapolis, Cedarville, Sandusky, Chicago, Moody Bible Institute, Purdue University, Toledo and finally back to BBC's Missions Conference - which was fantastic! It's been a great 7 weeks. The highlights have been getting to see so many people that have been with me in Berlin on short-term trips, as well as getting lots of quality time with my family. There were two times that I thought I was going to have the opportunity of seeing my niece, Lana, again for a couple hours when I was on my way somewhere and near enough to Kalamazoo; and both times it fell through due to weather. It was disappointing. But then, when I got back to Clarks Summit, my parents decided to fly Trav, Kaci and the baby to Clarks Summit for one more visit . . . for a week! This just goes to show that a quote I found recently is true. This quote is from one of my favorite books by my favorite author. It says, "Let's never forget that some of His greatest mercies are His refusals. He says, 'No' in order that He may, in some way we cannot imagine, say, 'Yes.' All His ways with us are merciful. His meaning is always love" (Elisabeth Elliot, Keep a Quiet Heart). God knew I needed to have this truth illustrated for me in this way. I hope I never forget it!

Enjoy these pictures of fun moments with family and friends . . .

We're starting to plan the details of our trip... purchasing extra luggage, getting lists together, etc. Can't wait to see you & all that Berlin has to show us. Matt is plowing through websites like crazy, and we're just elated to have this chance. Glad your time back home was so good, and I love the quote atthe end of your post... I've seen it proved over and over again. Yet I still doubt. He's working on me though!
